As for the creation of the building's internal spaces, the architects have excavated a circular platform in the middle of the cube from small to large to not only enhance the natural light intake inside the building and produce an interesting atrium that provides a high quality office environment, but also to create a series of social spaces within a flexible framework to encourage informal meetings, collaboration and ultimate innovation.

研發(fā)中心設(shè)計(jì)不同于傳統(tǒng)方方正正的中庭樣式，建筑的中庭空間由數(shù)個(gè)不規(guī)則圓形盤(pán)旋錯(cuò)落而成。中庭將自然光引入每一樓層的圓環(huán)中，帶給人一種自然舒適的感覺(jué)。這種舒適感引導(dǎo)人們?cè)谥型ゾ奂?，讓人們?cè)陂_(kāi)敞空間中交流互動(dòng)。中庭打破了樓層間的間隔，使整個(gè)建筑是交互的、流動(dòng)的。設(shè)計(jì)師大膽的將獨(dú)特的幾何元素運(yùn)用于中庭，使其顯得時(shí)尚而自然，更是“方”“圓”組合的內(nèi)化。設(shè)計(jì)師希望中庭的“圓”與該建筑整體的方形形成鮮明對(duì)比，以延續(xù)“方”“圓”調(diào)和的理念。在建筑物中以仰視視角觀察中庭，天圓地方的陰陽(yáng)調(diào)和觀念更是讓人深有其感。

In contrast to the traditional square atrium, the building's atrium space is made up of several irregular circles in a staggered pattern. The atrium brings natural light into the circles on each floor, providing a sense of natural comfort. The sense of comfort leads people to gather in the atrium, allowing them to interact with each other in an open space. The atrium breaks down the spacing between floors, making the whole building interactive and fluid. The designer boldly used unique geometric elements in the atrium to make it look stylish and natural but also to internalize the combination of "square" and "circle". The designer wanted the 'circle' of the atrium to contrast with the square shape of the building as a whole to continue reconciling the 'square' and the 'circle'. Looking up at the atrium from within the building, the harmonization of "yin" and "yang" is a compelling concept.

“方圓調(diào)和”的理念不僅表現(xiàn)在外觀的美感表達(dá)上，更深化于縱向可持續(xù)維度中。研發(fā)中心設(shè)計(jì)方、圓、順滑的曲線等幾何元素帶來(lái)的是夏季隔熱通風(fēng)，冬季保溫節(jié)能，自然光層層下滲的功效。

The concept of "harmony between square and circle" is not only expressed in the aesthetic expression of the exterior but is also deepened in the vertical sustainability dimension. Geometric elements such as squares, circles and smooth curves provide thermal insulation and ventilation in summer, heat preservation and energy saving in winter and natural light entering different floors.

The design is based on the architectural expression of the corporate culture, the unity and coordination between the building and the surrounding urban environment, the presentation of the high-tech modern style of the building, the communication and interaction between the internal and external spaces of the building and the sustainable design of the building. The project undertakes the mission of the building to become a landmark building in Suzhou Guofang Electronics Industrial Park. The building will carry a leader's style, driving the industrial park's high-quality, sustainable development.

這個(gè)項(xiàng)目是工作室在4年前初創(chuàng)時(shí)期有幸接觸的最大體量的項(xiàng)目，雖然我們只是承擔(dān)了方案設(shè)計(jì)，但不同于工作室其他小尺度的城市更新、鄉(xiāng)村文旅、零售商業(yè)的設(shè)計(jì)，研發(fā)中心設(shè)計(jì)這個(gè)項(xiàng)目也拓寬了我們的實(shí)踐邊界?；仡櫿麄€(gè)項(xiàng)目歷程，雖然項(xiàng)目由于工期、造價(jià)以及協(xié)作等因素在許多方面（立面幕墻控制、平面布局、機(jī)電整合等）存在各種不完美，但也一定程度上實(shí)現(xiàn)了初始概念方案的想法，并讓我們?cè)诟暧^的城市層級(jí)、更大體量的建筑設(shè)計(jì)（與EPC和設(shè)計(jì)院合作）、更大尺度的景觀界面上積累了不可或缺的經(jīng)驗(yàn)。作為一個(gè)成長(zhǎng)中的工作室，感謝這樣一個(gè)項(xiàng)目幫助我們學(xué)習(xí)如何更加全面協(xié)調(diào)進(jìn)度計(jì)劃，組織控制擴(kuò)初設(shè)計(jì)、施工圖設(shè)計(jì)及施工配合等工作，在此也非常感謝業(yè)主與總包方的信任與配合。

The project is the largest volume project that the studio was fortunate enough to be exposed to when it was first established four years ago. Although we only undertook the schematic design, unlike the studio's other small-scale urban renewal, rural cultural tourism and retail, commercial designs, the project also broadened our practice boundaries. Looking back on the whole project, although there are various imperfections in many aspects (facade curtain wall control, plan layout, MEP integration, etc.) due to the project duration, cost and collaboration, we have to a certain extent, realized the idea of the initial concept design and accumulated our necessary experience in the urban macro level, larger volume architectural design (in cooperation with EPC and design institute), and larger scale landscape interface. As a growing studio, we are grateful for such a project to help us learn how to coordinate the schedule more comprehensively, organize and control the expansion design, construction drawing design and construction cooperation and so on. We are also grateful for the trust and cooperation of the owner and the general contractor.
